Starry Night Nails (cutepolish tutorial)

Hey all!
This is Asa.
I apologize for the lack of nail posts!

Not my gif.

I just got finals week done with so whew. *Wipes brows*
So my post today is Starry Night Nails. I have always been fascinated with van Gogh's Starry Night and this fascination got even stronger with "Vincent and the Doctor" (Doctor Who episode).
I found cutepolish's tutorial on Starry Night nails and they were very easy to replicate actually!
Here is my picture:

I wish I could put the TARDIS on one of the nails though.

From Left to Right: NK Smoother Nails Ridge Filling Base Coat, WnW Saved by the Blue, WnW  Teal or no Teal,  WnW Rain Check, L.A. Colors Nail Art Brush, Topcoat (no brand).

Also, as a side note, for the rest of the nails that were not Starry Night, I layered Rain Check over Teal or no Teal because I thought that Rain Check was a bit sheer and not blue-y enough and that Teal or no Teal was too blue-y.
So, readers, I leave you with this nail art that I attempted.

X Out: A New Facial Cleanser from the Makers of Proactiv

Another review of a product received from Influenster's Voxbox program! This time it's a product only a select number of people received! X Out is a new facial cleanser from the celebrated makers of Proactiv! Here's the official description:

X Out Wash-In Treatment
The unique, one-step X Out™ Wash-In Treatment is formulated to help kill the bacteria that causes breakouts, help banish existing pimples and help leave the skin feeling smooth and looking healthy.

X Out™ works to lift away the dirt and grime that can clog pores.  The Wash-In Treatment also leaves behind powerful medicine to help keep pores clean.  Learn more and purchase at XOut.com.  X Out is sold as a 30-day supply and comes with a bonus Shine Control product to help you fight oil all day for $19.95.

At first I was afraid this product would be too harsh on my skin, but I was pleasantly surprised. X Out left my skin feeling fresh and clean. My skin has been clearing up, and looks nice and polished! The product smells sweet and has a handy pump  system. You can use this product in three ways: 1. rubbing it in on your damp face and immediately washing off, 2. as an on spot treatment, placing it only on the places where you broke out and  rinsing it after ten minutes, or 3. as a mask, rubbing it on your face and rinsing it after ten minutes.
Sorry the picture is all weird -__-

NYC New York Color: Nude York City

Here's another review of another product I received from Influenster's Voxbox program!
This time it's NYC's New York Color Liquid Lipshine! I absolutely loved this product. Normally, I'm not a fan of lip glosses. They are too sticky or shiny to the point where my lips look greasy. But this lip gloss shocked me. It's this subtle nude color, (the lipgloss' name actually was Nude York City!) with a beautiful shimmer. It wasn't sticky at all, and smells great, sort of like marshmallows. It lasted long and kept my chapped lips moisturized in this cold weather! I am definitely going to pick up a few of these the next time I go to the pharmacy!
Here's the official description:

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

Straight from the city that never sleeps, NYC New York Color offers products with uptown style at down-to-earth prices, from $.99 - $4.99. The energy, style and color of New York City shines through the wide range of shades, textures and innovative products. NYC always delivers the most on-trend products & shades hot off the runway!

A beauty-editor favorite is Liquid Lipshine ($2.49). It has pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias. Start shopping for NYC at these stores nearest you: Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Family Dollar, Duane Reade, Kmart, HEB, and others.  Visit newyorkcolor.com to check out all shades and fun products from New York Color!

I absolutely loved this product. They were the perfect length and were stronger than I expected! My manicure lasted about 5 days. It would have lasted longer if I were more careful with my hands. The nails themselves weren't uncomfortable, and the application was easy (the only difficulty was finding the perfect size for your nail beds, and I was just being picky). I was (cheesy alert) over the moon for the nail design I received, "Over the Moon." I would absolutely recommend this product to a friend. The nails are perfect for a party or for everyday wear. They are AWESOME. Here are some Pics:

I liked this design a lot more than I thought I would. I want those two color nail polishes!!

I actually have 12 extra nails for a second manicure!

Isn't the packaging adorable?! I look forward to buying more of these in the future!
